Competition Regulations

1. Organizers:

(1) Under the Auspices of

2. Competition Date:

June 7 (Saturday) – June 8 (Sunday)

3. Competition Time:

08:00 – 17:00 (subject to the number of registered teams)

4. Venue:

Interstellar Basketball Court, Zhubei City (Bo’ai South Road Park No. 29, Hsinchu County)

5. Competition Group:

Men’s 5-on-5 Full-Court

6. Eligibility:

Only migrant workers aged 18 and above are eligible to register.

7. Entry:

(1) Entry Details: From now until May 21 (Wednesday), 17:00, or until the maximum number of teams (16 teams) is reached. Late registrations may not be accepted.

(2) Entry Thru:

(3) Fee: Free

(4) Team Composition: Each team may register:

      A. 1 Team Leader, 1 Coach, 1 Assistant Coach, 1 Staff

      B. Up to 12 Players

8. General Rules:

(1) Official Game Ball: The tournament will use an official size 7 basketball designated by the organizers.

(2) Teams must prepare valid residence permits or official identification documents verifying migrant worker status 10 minutes before the game for verification check-in.

(3) Once the team has successfully completed the entry, player changes are not allowed. Unregistered players cannot participate in any game.

(4) Teams must report on time for scheduled matches. A team will forfeit the game if:

      A. They fail to show up 10 minutes after the scheduled start time.

      B. They have fewer than five players available during the game.

      C. The opposing team will be declared the winner by default.

(5) Each team should prepare jerseys for the competition, and the numbers indicated on the jerseys should be from 1 to 99.

(6) If a team is found using ineligible or unregistered players, they will be disqualified, and all past game results will be annulled.

(7) In case of any dispute not explicitly covered in these rules, the referees’ decisions shall be final.

9. Awards:

(1) Participation Prize: a gift bag for All team participants

(2) 1st Place: Trophy + NT$6,000 gift vouchers

(3) 2nd Place: Trophy + NT$4,000 gift vouchers

(4) 3rd Place: Trophy + NT$2,000 gift vouchers

10. Appeals:

No appeals will be accepted. The referees’ decisions on the court are final.

11. Penalties:

Any of the following violations may result in immediate disqualification of the team, and all previous results will be nullified:

     (1) Fighting on or off the court.

     (2) Verbal abuse or disrespectful behavior towards referees, tournament officials, or staff members.

12. Competition Format & Rules:

(1) Tournament Format:

      A. Group Stage: Round-robin format.

      B. Second Stage: Single-elimination format.

      C. The organizers reserve the right to adjust the format based on the number of registered teams.

      D. Points Scoring system:

a. Win: 2 points

b. Loss: 1 point

c. Forfeit/Incomplete game: 0 points

d. Teams with higher total points will rank higher.

e. Tie-breakers:

(a) If two teams have the same points, the head-to-head result will determine the ranking.

(b) If three or more teams have the same points, the ranking will be determined by point differential (total points scored minus total points conceded).

(2) Game Rules:

A. Each game consists of four 8-minute quarters.

B. Break times:

a. Between Q1 & Q2 and Q3 & Q4: 1 minute

b. Halftime (between Q2 & Q3): 5 minutes

C. Clock Stoppage:

a. The clock stops for free throws and timeouts.

b. The clock does not stop for other situations.

D. Overtime:

a. If the game ends in a tie, a 5-minute overtime will be played.

b. Additional overtime periods will continue until a winner is determined.

E. All other rules follow the latest FIBA regulations.

14. Amendments:

If any issues arise that are not covered by these regulations, the organizers reserve the right to amend and announce changes accordingly.
